Cover your babies feet loosely; tight covers may restrict movement and effect normal development
Make sure blankets are loose and allow the baby to kick. Also, be sure to change the baby's position often because lying too long in one position can strain the legs and feet
The American Podiatric Medical Association advises, "Allowing youngster to go barefoot or to wear just socks helps the foot to grow normally and to develop its musculature and strength as well as the grasping action of the toes"
As your baby's feet are growing, walking barefoot or with a soft flexible shoe allows your baby to curl their toes and flex their feet to get a better grip as they walk and develop muscular strength
